Do you remember the actress, Charlene Tilton? She is best known for her role as the sly and promiscuous Lucy Ewing, the niece of brothers J.R. and Bobby Ewing, (played by Larry Hagman and Patrick Duffy) on the primetime TV soap opera Dallas (1978 – 1991).

From 1982 to 1984 she was married to a country singer who had a couple of songs that crossed over from the country charts to the Billboard Hot 100 with one of them going Top 10 in 1980 …

Born in Texas City, Texas in 1946, this singer/songwriter worked with Mickey Gilley for ten years – on tour and at Gilley’s Club in Pasadena, Texas.

He made it onto the country singles chart 34 times between 1975 and 1990, with five of his songs reaching the #1 position.

Two of his #1 records successfully crossed over to the Billboard Hot 100. The one that is most remembered came from the soundtrack for the 1980 hit movie Urban Cowboy which starred John Travolta and Debra Winger. The record not only crossed over, it went to #5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and stayed on the charts for 21 straight weeks.

The soundtrack, which was largely shot at Gilley’s, catapulted this country singer to fame.

Born John Lee Ham, he is better known by his stage name, Johnny Lee. He is currently on his “Hey Bartender, Last Call” farewell tour, reminding his fans of the pitfalls in “Lookin’ For Love (In All The Wrong Places),” this week’s Tom Locke moment in time.
